Training is a great tool for harmony in the home. There are many shelter animals that would still have homes if their caregivers had gone to that puppy training class, or consulted an experienced trainer before unacceptable behavior had begun. The following training centers and organizations may be helpful for those adopting shelter animals who have not had the benefit of training guidelines, or new pets that need a good start. It's important for all pet owners to remember: we are responsible for how our pets behave in public and in our own homes. We are also responsible for understanding why our pets behave the way they do. If you find controlling or understanding your pet difficult, consult a trainer or behavioralist. That's what they're here for!
